A couple weeks agao I reminded parents to take a look at their auto insurance before sending a student away to school with a car. But insurance isn't the only conversation worth having as they enter the world away from home.

After more than 30 years of helping people following automobile accidents, there are a few things I wish every young driver knew—especially when they're heading away from home for the first time.

So this week, I've put together a short list of things I'd want any young driver in my life to know while away at college. Hopefully they'll never need most of this advice, but if something does happen, they'll be much better prepared because of it.

Head over to my website to read my new blog—and if you have a college student away from home this fall, consider forwarding it to them, too. A two-minute read now might come in very handy someday.

Sending a child off to college comes with a long list of things to think about. Tuition is paid, classes are scheduled, the dorm room is packed and somehow you've managed to fit an impossible amount of stuff into the car. But if your son or daughter is taking a car to school, there's

Tell your family and friends about me! If you know someone who has been seriously injured due to someone else's negligence or needs help dealing with an insurance company, I'd be grateful if you'd pass along my name.

How is it possible that we're already approaching the end of summer? The good news is there's still time to squeeze in another adventure or two before the season slips away.

Pure Michigan put together a great summer bucket list filled with ideas for enjoying our beautiful state... from beaches and boating to biking, stargazing, and plenty more. Take a look and see how many you've already checked off...and which ones you can still fit in before fall arrives!

I'm honored to share that I've once again been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America® for 2027. This particular recognition means a great deal to me because Best Lawyers selections are based entirely on peer review—attorneys recognizing the work of other attorneys.

After more than 30 years of practicing law, I certainly don't take recognition like this for granted. I'm grateful to be included among so many attorneys and firms I respect, and even more grateful to the clients, friends and colleagues who have trusted me and supported my practice over the years. It's a privilege to do work I enjoy for people I genuinely care about. Thank you for being part of that!
