Attorney Adam Wogsland sees this mistake a lot: business owners file their LLC and think the protection is automatic.

It's not. Without separate bank accounts, proper capitalization, meeting minutes, and an operating agreement, a court can "pierce the veil" and hold you personally liable anyway.
