Ferrara who is a member of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA). She handled the seminal Connecticut surrogacy case of Raftopol v. Ramey and argued it before the Connecticut Supreme Court which led to the enactment of the Connecticut Parentage Act, a body of law that protects gestational surrogates and intended parents when they enter into surrogacy arrangements. . The team at Worldwide Surrogacy supports and has always supported the right of a gestational carrier to make medical decisions for herself, and for her to have complete bodily autonomy. The team also supports the right of intended parents to legal parentage of their baby upon the birth of the baby. Worldwide Surrogacy abides by and has always abided by the ethical standards and screening recommendations of the Academy (AAAA), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Society for Ethics in Egg Donation and Surrogacy (SEEDS). The team is saddened by the turn to litigation in the surrogacy case involving McKenna West and the intended parents of Baby Rumi. We are especially hopeful that the infant is surrounded by love and good medical care at this time of hardship in his life.

The U.S. Supreme Court reached the correct decision yesterday in upholding birthright citizenship.
“Held: Children born in the United States to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present are ‘subject to the jurisdiction’ of the United States and are citizens at birth under the Citizenship Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.”
