Legal Services of Northern Virginia, in partnership with Fairfax County Department of Family Services, is providing FREE phone legal clinics to Fairfax residents with disabilities! The final clinic will take place THIS FRIDAY, December 6th, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Most eligible residents will receive free same-day legal advice. Fairfax residents with disabilities can call 703- 778- 6801 during the clinic times above. To see the types of legal issues that LSNV helps with, visit: https://www.lsnv.org/what-we-do/.

Note: LSNV does not handle criminal, traffic, immigration, or personal injury matters. An assessment will first be conducted to determine eligibility for LSNV’s services.

Throughout 2023, LSNV has worked with 22 households at an affordable multi-family dwelling unit in Northern Virginia. The tenants at this property face significant housing conditions issues, including rodents and pests, lack of air conditioning and heat, water damage and mold. LSNV has prevented numerous evictions of tenants who are fighting for their rights to safe and habitable housing, with a high rate of success in court.

Currently, LSNV continues to work with tenants of the property and is regularly present for outreach during weekly food distributions, tenant council meetings, and other community sponsored events.

On Saturday, LSNV colleagues Richard Lane and Jim Ferguson tabled for LSNV at Winterhaven 2024, a resources fair for low-income veterans at the VA Medical Center in DC. It was a great opportunity to introduce a lot of folks to LSNV and to talk to them about the free legal services that we provide for veterans and other clients.
