The first-ever “Securing Your Legacy” event hosted by DC Affordable Law Firm, the Hill East Civic Association, Christian Legal Aid of DC, Legal Counsel for the Elderly, Legal Aid DC, D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, the DC Bar Foundation and other DC community partners was a tremendous success! We served close to sixty residents across the day, conducting intakes, property “check-ups,” and offering invaluable practical, accessible education on estate planning, probate, tax, and foreclosure issues over the course of our four-hour event!

Personally, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to present on "Basic Future Estate Planning Tools & Probate" with Murray Scheel, the Managing Attorney for the Future Planning & Probate Program at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center. Excited to be able to give back to our community in such a tangible way!

I just celebrated my 31st birthday. I am beyond thankful for everything the Lord has graciously provided my wife and I this past year!

It was a year in which God said:

Bank on my generosity.
Bank on me being for you.
Bank on me making something out of nothing.

And sure enough, God plopped a bunch of opportunities in front of us that we did not see coming:

✅ Bought our first home

✅ Had the best year of marriage yet

✅ Took the first step towards ordination with my local presbytery and received more teaching and preaching opportunities in my local church

✅ Had more opportunities to counsel others and actually saw God do some really cool things (either through me or despite me)

✅ Received great mentorship from local lawyers

And most recently:

✅ Started my own law firm!

Month one of the firm has been a success!

✅ 43 consultations
✅ 12 clients

And my SEO hasn't even kicked in yet :)

Year 30 was one of the best!

Can't wait to see what Year 31 brings!
