A reasonable-accommodation request doesn't have to start with perfect legal language. What matters is communicating that a workplace change may be needed because of a medical condition or disability.

The ADA process can involve discussion about job duties, limitations, medical information when appropriate, and possible accommodations. An employee is not always entitled to the exact option requested, but the conversation should focus on whether an effective accommodation is available.

A termination can feel unfair without necessarily being unlawful. Pennsylvania generally follows at-will employment, but that rule has important limits.

A firing may raise legal questions when it is tied to discrimination, retaliation, protected leave, a contract, whistleblowing, or another legal protection. The reason given, the timing, and the record leading up to the decision can all matter.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, a time to recognize the skills and contributions of workers with disabilities and the importance of equal opportunity in the workplace.

The 2026 theme, “Celebrating Value and Talent,” reminds us that disability inclusion is more than compliance. It is also about making sure qualified employees have a fair opportunity to contribute, grow, and succeed.

Workplace issues are not always easy to talk about, especially when your job, income, or reputation is on the line.

If you work in Chester County, Delaware County, Berks County, or Lancaster County and believe you were treated unfairly, understanding your rights may help.

What workplace issue do you think employees have the hardest time addressing: wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, or unpaid wages?

Being included in a reduction in force can leave you with questions about why you were selected and whether your rights were respected.

Although Pennsylvania generally follows at-will employment, layoffs still must comply with laws addressing discrimination, retaliation, protected leave, contractual obligations, and, in some circumstances, advance notice requirements.

Selection criteria, severance terms, the employees affected, and the events leading up to the layoff can all matter.

Our blog explains what Pennsylvania employees should know after a reduction in force.

Hiring. Promotions. Pay. Assignments. Discipline. Termination.

Discrimination can affect employees at virtually every stage of the employment relationship. Federal and Pennsylvania laws provide protections against certain forms of workplace discrimination based on legally protected characteristics.

If you believe bias played a role in how you were treated at work, you deserve to understand your rights and options.
