Air Force for 24 years. They moved to Evans in 2005 and Ken continues to serve his country at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Laura has become very active in various community affairs since moving to Georgia. She is a member of the Cornerstone Class at Wesley United Methodist Church. She serves on the board of the Augusta Area Newcomers Club, is a past President and current 2nd VP. While she loves selling real estate, Laura also enjoys long walks at the park, reading for pleasure and for the two book clubs she's in, eating out and going to movies with Ken, listening to classic rock, attending concerts and live theater performances, traveling to new places, and drinking hot tea with her rescue cat sitting in her lap. Laura has gone from being named Rookie of the Year for 2011 to the President’s Award Winner and one of the Top Ten Agents in 2017 for Blanchard and Calhoun Real Estate Company! She was anything but a rookie when she joined them in 2010! Laura brings a wealth of real estate knowledge and experience to her position as an award winning agent in the Evans office. She was previously a licensed Real Property Appraiser in Georgia from 2006-2010 and has served as a vice-president in the real estate lending department of a large Texas bank and as vice-president for a mortgage company in California. Furthermore, Laura holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Honors degree in finance from the University of Texas at Austin. Laura was selected to the position of Vice-President of the company in 2016 in recognition of her sales record and experience with the company. Laura owes her varied background to the 24 years she spent traveling the world with her husband, Ken, while he served in the U.S. Air Force. They have chosen to retire in Evans while Ken continues to serve his country as a civilian at Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon. Laura is extremely knowledgeable about military moves and the issues involved in moving with and without children and pets due to her first hand experiences moving with the Air Force around the U.S. and overseas. Laura has become very active in various community affairs since moving to Georgia. She is a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She is active in the Augusta Area Newcomers Club and was the club’s President from 2010-2011. Laura is a member of the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors, the Georgia Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. She is licensed in both Georgia and South Carolina. She currently holds the Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation (SRES), Certified Negotiation Expert, and Certified New Home Sales Professional.
