Hays Burchfield was sworn in Thursday as Maben’s Municipal Court Judge after the Maben Board of Aldermen unanimously voted to hire him. Court will be held once a quarter. Burchfield Law Firm, PLLC’s employees and Hays’s family joined him for the ceremony.

Burchfield Law Firm, PLLC welcomes second-year University of Mississippi School of Law student Morgan Beck as a law clerk for the first half of the summer. Morgan is participating in The Mississippi Bar’s Access to Justice Committee’s Rural Mississippi Clerkship Program, which aims to increase the number of lawyers in rural Mississippi by giving law students the opportunity to work under the supervision of attorneys who practice in rural areas of the state. Morgan is from Iuka and received her undergraduate degree from Mississippi State University. When you see her working alongside Hays Burchfield, introduce yourself to her and please make her feel welcome.
