New spin on a modern scam. Law enforcement has warned the public they will not request money by text, email or telephone. Those that do, in their name, are scammers.

Recieved this morning.

Please reminder older and vulnerable family members and friends not to fall prey to these despicable thieves. Later in my father’s life he received such an email. It discribed a vague grievance and threatened a lawsuit if money was not paid. The vague description allowed dad to mentally fill in the blanks and believe it was regarding a problem from the past (one he delt with approximately at the time).

Don’t let anyone get cheated by these lowlifes!

Innovative Law Group, in downtown Eugene, had a break-in overnight. You will see from the picture that a window pane was broken out of a door next to the handle. Four officers from the Eugene Police Department arrived promptly and cleared the building. Within an hour, our amazing janitorial service Environment Control cleaned up the broken glass. Shortly afterwards, Mark & Co. Windows and Doors arrived to measure and replace the window pane. In just a few hours, everything is as good as new.

Other lawsuits have been filed already, with many more likely.

If the rule is allowed to stand, Employers need to prepare for requirements that go into effect on December 5th (beware - media reports of a January 4, 2022 effective date are not accurate).

It has been our privilege to represent and advise ADASA Inc., an innovative RFID research and development company, since it was founded in 2004. This month, ADASA was awarded a $62 million final judgement against Avery Dennison for infringing one of ADASA's patents. This is both vindication for and validation of the hard work and creativity of ADASA and it's founder, Clarke McAllister!

As this article indicates, Avery Dennison is appealing the judgement. ADASA is in very good hands with it's patent attorneys and it's appellant attorneys. We look forward to the judgement being affirmed on appeal.

ADASA uses RFID technology solutions for retailers. Avery Dennison was discovered to have infringed upon the patent, and found to owe ADASA over $62 million.

Oregon OSHA lifts masks and social distancing mandates for most Oregon businesses. Other requirements of OSHA's Permanent COVID Rules remain. Some (most? all?) of those requirements may be lifted later.

While the facial covering and distancing provisions are removed from the rule addressing employer-provided housing, the rule’s measures – including placement of beds and air purifiers – remain in place.
