A Sky Full of Stars Comes to the Senior Center

The Estes Park Senior Citizens Center (EPSCC) welcomes everyone to attend a free presentation by local photographer, writer, and naturalist Dawn Wilson, “A Sky Full of Stars...And Moon, Lights, Meteors and Galaxies,” at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at the EPSCC, 1760 Olympian Lane.

Our night sky offers an extraordinary window into the universe, and today’s cameras can capture sights that were once difficult to see or preserve. During this visually rich presentation, Wilson will share photographs and videos of celestial events she has captured over the past several years. The program will include northern lights, solar and lunar eclipses, Milky Way alignments with familiar local landmarks, and other remarkable scenes from the night sky.
Along with the images, Wilson will share some of the stories behind the photographs and offer ideas for becoming more aware of what is happening overhead after dark. She will also discuss the importance of dark skies and efforts to preserve them for future generations.

Wilson is the owner of Dawn Wilson Photography and Creeks and Critters Nature Tours. She is a professional and award-winning nature photographer and writer who specializes in telling stories about wildlife and outdoor adventures. An avid hiker, naturalist, and traveler, her work includes more than 800 bylined articles and photo credits and has appeared in Outdoor Photographer, Nature’s Best Photography, Colorado Life, MotorHome, and numerous other publications.
