September 21–27, 2026

I’m coming in a little late with this week’s calendar, but better late than never! 😅 There’s still plenty happening around the Bay de Noc area this week, so let’s get to it!

We’ve got live music, classes, community events, comedy, a car show, Downtown Day in Gladstone, Youth National Hunting & Fishing Day, and plenty more to choose from. 🎶🎨🎣🚗

And yes... I see the “End of Summer Bash” on Friday. I’m choosing to interpret that as a celebration of summer and NOT an official declaration that it’s over. 😂☀️

📊 Bay de Noc Market Pulse | August 2026

The latest numbers are in, and the Delta County real estate market continues to show signs of shifting toward a more balanced environment.

🏡 Inventory remains near the five-month mark at 4.59 months. While the market still leans toward sellers, buyers continue to have more options than they did a year ago, with months of inventory up 34.6% compared to last August.

⏱️ Homes that sold moved quickly, with the median time on market dropping to just 16 days. Sellers also received an average of 98.1% of their list price, up from last month.

💰 The median sold price for August came in at $180,000, down from July's $237,450. Remember, though, a one-month change in median price doesn't necessarily mean individual home values fell by the same amount. The mix of properties sold each month can have a significant impact on that number.

🔍 Intel to Watch: While August's median sold price dropped, RPR's estimated median property value for Delta County actually increased to $219,970, up 5.8% from a year ago. That's why I like looking at several indicators together rather than letting any one number tell the whole story.

September is rolling right along, and there’s plenty happening around our area this week!

From live music and local markets to a Paint & Sip, fundraisers, bingo, a craft show, Harvest Fest, comedy, and more, there are lots of reasons to get out of the house and enjoy our community. 🎨🎵🍁

🎉 Here's what's happening in our area this week! 🍂🎶

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and had a chance to relax, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy a little extra time in our beautiful corner of the U.P.! 😊

With the holiday behind us, here's a look at what's happening around the area for the rest of the week. From live music and a murder mystery to classic cars, a magical market, comedy, a fundraiser, dirt track racing, and more, there are still plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy the community!

🌲And what about Sunday?

I wasn't able to find any scheduled events to include this Sunday, but that doesn't mean you have to stay home! Make your own plans and enjoy a little U.P. adventure. Take a walk along the waterfront, explore one of our local trails, grab breakfast or lunch from a local restaurant, take a drive, visit a park, or simply find a good spot to enjoy what's left of our late-summer weather. ☀️🌊🥾

Sometimes the best plans are the ones you make yourself!

Today is more than the unofficial end of summer. It’s a day to recognize and honor the generations of working men and women whose hard work, dedication, and contributions have helped build our communities and our country.

🎶 Live music, the final White Birch Bike Night of the season, open mic night, the Hannahville Pow Wow, the UP Steam & Gas Engine Show, Downtown Escanaba’s Sizzling Summer Sidewalk Sales, Boogie Fest Too, fishing, and plenty more are on the calendar.

🇺🇸 And I extended this week's calendar through Labor Day Monday!

The holiday weekend brings several long-standing community traditions throughout the area. Rock, Nahma and Escanaba all have Labor Day celebrations, with parades, live music, food, activities and more happening throughout the weekend and into Monday. Check out the additional flyers included with this post for details on each celebration.

It’s one of those weekends where you could probably pick a direction, start driving, and eventually run into something happening. 😂

We may be coming off a BIG U.P. State Fair week, but the local calendar apparently has no intention of slowing down! 😃

There’s plenty happening around the area this week with live music, Bike Night, yoga, Business After Hours, Paint & Sip, the Downtown Pop Up Market, classes, bingo, dirt track racing and more. 🎶🏍️🎨🌻

And if live music is your thing, you have LOTS of choices. There’s music happening just about every day this week at venues throughout the area, with Friday and Saturday especially packed.

☀️ We’re getting into those final weeks of summer, so get out there, enjoy the weather, support some local businesses and squeeze a little more out of August before it disappears on us!
