This month, we celebrate . Throughout the month, we will spotlight a female attorney whose passion for the law and helping others set a foundation for the countless rising women lawyers to come. Today, we introduce you to Carmen Howell, of the Law Office of Carmen F. Howell.

Carmen Howell has successfully owned and managed a solo law firm for nearly 15 years in Enterprise, Alabama. Carmen's diverse practice includes domestic relations, mediation, civil litigation, education, and criminal defense. She aggressively litigates for her clients while also emphasizing the importance of compromise and dispute resolution. Carmen wants her clients to feel empowered and part of the solution to their legal disputes.
Carmen loves lawyers and the practice of law. She believes that there is no greater honor in this profession than being a “lawyer’s lawyer.” She is a servant leader in this profession, and she demonstrates that by serving on numerous committees for the Alabama State Bar, including the Executive Council for President Gibson Vance. Carmen served as president of the Coffee County Bar Association for five years. She is a graduate of the Alabama State Bar’s Leadership Forum and has served as bar commissioner for the 12th Judicial Circuit since 2018.
Carmen is married with three daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, and taking yoga classes.
