One text isn't worth the risk.

It's Pedestrian Safety Month this month, and it's an important reminder that distractions don't just happen behind the wheel. According to Safe Kids Worldwide, half of teens surveyed admitted to crossing the street while distracted by a mobile device.

âś… Remove headphones or lower the volume to stay aware of traffic.

Drivers should also remember that a green light doesn't necessarily mean the road ahead is clear. Before turning, look for pedestrians who may be crossing the street you're entering.

Knowing who has the right-of-way is important. But avoiding a crash is always more important than proving who had it.

When a child is injured in an accident, there are a few important things parents should know.

In Colorado, the deadlines for filing an injury claim can be different for minors, but that doesn't mean you should wait to take action.

Children may not always be able to explain how they're feeling or recognize when something is wrong. As a parent, it's important to watch for changes in their behavior, seek appropriate medical care, and take their injuries seriously.

If your child has been injured in an accident, don't wait to ask questions. Speaking with an attorney early can help you understand your options and protect your child's rights.

đźš— Always look both ways before crossing, even on quiet streets.

Whether you're out collecting candy or behind the wheel, staying alert helps keep Halloween fun for everyone!

After an accident, it’s normal to have questions.

Are my injuries serious enough? Was the other person actually at fault? Will insurance take care of everything? Do I really need an attorney? Do I even have a case?

Here’s the thing: you don’t need to know whether you have a case before you call us. That’s what the conversation is for.

Not everything that looks like an e-bike is actually an e-bike. 🚲

More kids are riding electric bikes and e-motos around neighborhoods, but there's an important difference parents should know.

In Colorado, e-bikes are limited to a maximum motor-assisted speed of 28 mph. Electric bikes that fall outside the legal e-bike classifications may be considered motor vehicles and subject to different rules and regulations.

**Parents, before purchasing one for your child, make sure you know what you're buying.** You could face legal consequences for allowing your child to operate a vehicle they aren't legally permitted to ride.

The days are getting shorter, which means more morning commutes, evening walks and after-school activities are happening in low-light conditions.

Fall is an especially important time to watch for pedestrians on Colorado roads.

A little extra caution can go a long way toward keeping everyone safer.

Just because someone isn't crossing at a marked crosswalk doesn't automatically mean they're at fault if an accident happens.

Drivers still have a responsibility to pay attention and take precautions to avoid hitting pedestrians.

If you see someone preparing to cross the street, slow down, stay alert, and make sure it's safe before proceeding.

A little extra caution can prevent a serious accident.

You can’t control how much insurance another driver carries, but you can take steps to protect yourself.

If you’re injured by a drunk or impaired driver who doesn’t have enough insurance to cover your damages, your own uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage may become incredibly important.

Take a look at your auto policy and know what coverage you have. When possible, consider carrying as much UM/UIM coverage as you can reasonably afford.

And if you’re injured by an impaired driver, LS Injury Law can help you understand what coverage may be available.
