Passing the torch at Hickory Ridge Farm 🏡✨

Today my friends Annie and Mike became the new caretakers of the legendary Howard County equestrian estate, Hickory Ridge Farm, located in Highland, Maryland

Annie and Mike fell in love with the historic charm of the main house—built by the Maryland Ridgeleys in 1789 and having since been home to the Hopkins and Clark families—but perhaps the most meaningful part of this journey is that they finally have the perfect property to bring their own horses home. 🐴🤍

This never felt like a real estate sale; it felt like a true transfer of a historic legacy. The sellers were kind and gracious, and it was great to watch the two families genuinely become friends as they bonded over their shared love for this estate.

It has been a joy to play a small role in the beginning of this next chapter in Hickory Ridge’s history. The legacy of Hickory Ridge is in the most wonderful hands! 🍾🥂

They say real estate slows down in the winter... clearly, 7170 Brooks Rd didn’t get the memo!
Despite an icy, freezing December weekend, this home proved that there is a perfect buyer for every unique home. We were blown away to see 50 groups brave the cold, resulting in 8 incredible offers and a closing today at $75k over asking!
It goes to show that when a house has character, people will trek through anything to find it. Huge thanks to our sellers for trusting the NC2 Team to brave the elements and get their home sold!

We had our first Danish Christmas lunch (julefrokost) celebration at the new house this past weekend with friends and family 💕 We have a much bigger dining room now and certainly took advantage of that 😆.
Julefrokost is a traditional danish feast involving multiple dishes, including herring, salmon, flounder, liver pate, pork roast and more and accompanied by lots of beer and aquavit. This year we had the extra treat of being able to finish with some newly imported Danish cheese that cousin Tine had brought home from her trip 🧀
