"Notarios" who offer to prepare divorce or immigration filings are in per se violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, among other laws, and can be sued for treble damages by aggrieved clients. 👩‍⚖️

Few to no companies actually pay minimum wage anymore. On inflation adjusted terms, $7.25 in 2008 is about $12 today.

The only thing Texas is doing by not imposing a reasonable minimum wage is leaving millions of dollars in child support on the table as the minimum presumption in the Texas Family Code, in the absence of hard-to-acquire evidence, depends on the current Federal minimum wage

In some cases, this is public assistance that Texas could be clawing back but isn't.
