Before Lee Trevino became a six-time major champion, he was just a kid growing up in Dallas with almost nothing.
His family couldn't afford a set of golf clubs. So his uncle gave him an old 7-iron, and Lee spent hours hitting rocks, bottles, and anything else he could find. Later, he started caddying at a local country club, where he picked up tips from watching better players and practiced whenever he had the chance.
He never took a formal golf lesson.
Everything he learned came from trial and error, hard work, and thousands of swings with that single club.
Years later, the kid who started with one club became one of the greatest ball strikers the game has ever seen, winning 29 PGA Tour events and six major championships.
Sometimes all it takes is one opportunity... and the determination to make the most of it. ⛳
