I'm on a webinar Q&A with the Chief Economist at the California Association of Realtors and getting a lot of clarity on recent updates in regards to the stimulus as it pertains to homeowners and the housing market. First off the real estate industry (commercial and residential) is officially deemed as an "essential service." That includes most if not all of the services and vendors associated with our industry. (I have more information on this if you are a contractor or someone that does service work associated with the real estate industry, e.g. stagers, pest companies, photographers, handymen, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, etc, etc. your business may be classified as "essential" when working on real estate related projects) This is broad and a huge step for advancing the housing market and the businesses associated through this time. Another great take away was that there is assistance for homeowners who maintain an FHA or government-backed loan such as Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, VA, etc. Government-insured loans have an option in place allowing you to potentially defer mortgage payments for 180 days due to the COVID shutdown! There are some qualifications involved but hit me up and we can do some research together to see if you qualify.
