Lance Freezeland has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1990, and has served as Effingham County Assistant State's Attorney (1990-92), Effingham County Chief Public Defender (1993-95), Effingham County Felony Public Defender (1996-98), and has maintained a solo private practice in Effingham from 1995 to the present. He has appeared in the Circuit Courts of 39 different Illinois counties, one county in the State of Indiana, and has appeared in oral arguments before both the Fifth District Appellate Court in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and the Illinois Supreme Court in Springfield, Illinois. He has been recognized for his work with juveniles by both the Effingham County Operation Drug Alert Council and the Effingham County Youth Commission. He has also been recognized by the national Coalition for the Restoration of Parental Rights for his work defending parents from grandparental visitation suits. Freezeland earned his bachelor's degree in political science and macro-economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1989.
