What does a real estate agent in OKC / Edmond actually do all day?

Apparently, a lot of things that would get some serious side eye in any other career. 😂

At this point, photographing water heaters, knowing strangers’ financial histories, and getting emotionally attached to houses I don’t even own all feel completely normal.

Fall 2026 is having a moment 🍂✨

This season I’m loving the mix of rich, moody colors with a few unexpected pops of pink, lilac and mustard. Think deep greens, chocolate browns, burgundy, vintage-inspired florals, velvet, warm woods, brass accents and lots of layered texture.

The vibe?

Collected, cozy and a little playful. Less perfectly matched, more “I found this fabulous piece and had to have it.” Add in botanical prints, vintage treasures, patterned pillows, beautiful ceramics and warm lighting, and suddenly fall feels fresh again.

Closing day is exciting… but getting the keys isn’t the end of the to-do list. 🔑🏡

Once you’re officially a homeowner, there are a few things worth taking care of early that can make life a whole lot easier later.

Make sure you:

• Update your records — bank, insurance, employer, utilities, and anything else tied to your old address.
• Rebuild your emergency fund — because homeownership has a funny way of introducing you to expenses you weren’t expecting.
• Know your mortgage — understand your payment schedule, important dates, and options for making extra payments.
• Start a maintenance routine — small things like changing filters, checking gutters, and staying ahead of seasonal maintenance can help prevent bigger repairs.

Buying the house is the milestone. Taking care of it is how you protect what you’ve built. 🤍

Psssst... interest rates aren’t the whole story. 👀

Even though they seem to be all over the news lately!

Somewhere along the way, interest rates became the main character in every homebuying conversation.

They matter, of course.

But obsessing over one number can distract you from the question that actually matters: does buying a home right now make sense for your finances, your plans, and the life you’re trying to build here in Oklahoma City?

A rate can tell you part of the cost.

It can’t tell you whether you’ve outgrown your current space, how long you plan to stay, what opportunities exist in the OKC market (hello, pockets like Edmond, Moore, Mustang, and Yukon), or whether the monthly payment fits comfortably into your real life.

That’s why I’d rather help you evaluate the whole decision than wait around for one magical number to give you permission.

We love Dolly because she reminds us to be exactly who we are — and do it on purpose.

🌈 For her resilience. She taught us that rain comes with the rainbow and that hard seasons can give us deeper roots.

💎 For her authenticity. In a rhinestone world, Dolly never apologized for being a diamond — big hair, big dreams, sparkle and all.

🛣️ For her courage to change direction. If the road you’re on isn’t right, you can start paving a new one.

💕 For knowing what really matters. Work hard, dream big — but don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.

👢 For refusing to be put in a box. Other people’s expectations don’t get to decide what you’re capable of.

😂 For her humility and humor. She could laugh at herself, never took the sparkle too seriously, and famously joked that she had more guts than talent.

📚 For her generosity. Dolly didn’t just talk about making the world better — she has spent decades giving back, including putting books into the hands of children through her Imagination Library.

🎉 40 DAYS LATER… WE FINALLY CLOSED! 🏡🔑

This one definitely made us WORK for the closing-day photo! 😂

There were LOTS of hurdles along the way—a change of lenders, a change in loan type, and then, right in the middle of underwriting, Fannie Mae changed some of the codes/requirements for condo lending. Because apparently we needed one more challenge. 😅

Oh, and did I mention condo HOAs are SO much fun to work with? 😂 If you know, you know!

But after closing 40 days later than originally expected, my first-time buyer FINALLY got the keys to his condo, and I could not be more excited for him! 🥳🔑

The good news? There may not be a ton of condos in OKC, but after this transaction, I’m definitely becoming much more educated on the condo sales process. 😂 Between lenders, underwriting requirements, HOA documents, and everything else condos like to throw at you—I learned A LOT on this one!

But seeing a first-time buyer finally get those keys made every single hurdle worth it. ❤️🏡
