💜✨ VOICES OF IMPACT: INSPIRING CHANGE THROUGH WORDS ✨💜
Powerful Voices. Meaningful Conversations. Lasting Impact.
🗣️ “Experiences and documentation turn into evidence.”
— Brittney Ast, the Brava Law Firm
At the 2nd Annual Violence Against Women Conference Survivor Empowerment Pre-Conference, Brittney Ast shared this powerful reminder during the multidisciplinary panel discussion, “The Power of the Record: Documentation, Advocacy & Survivor Safety.”
💜 Domestic violence does not always leave visible bruises or physical injuries. Emotional abuse, psychological manipulation, coercive control, intimidation, and threats can place survivors in serious danger, even when there is no physical evidence of abuse.
Brittney's words remind us that a survivor's safety should never be measured solely by what we can see.
As advocates, law enforcement officers, legal professionals, and community members, we must recognize the warning signs, listen without judgment, and understand the importance of trauma-informed documentation and intervention.
Accurate documentation, compassionate advocacy, and a coordinated response can make a critical difference in protecting survivors and strengthening their access to justice.
🌻 Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and protected—even when their pain and the danger they face are invisible.
Through our Voices of Impact: Inspiring Change Through Words series, we continue to share the powerful messages of our conference speakers, turning meaningful conversations into greater awareness, stronger advocacy, and lasting change.
Because the absence of visible injuries should never mean the absence of action. 💜
