Everyone at Meuser, Yackley & Rowland extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Lieutenant Tyler Uthe of the Minnesota State Patrol.

First responders have always been at the heart of what we do at MYR. We are continually inspired by the service, sacrifice, and commitment they demonstrate each day in protecting and serving our communities. We have no doubt that Lieutenant Uthe represented the Minnesota State Patrol and the broader law enforcement community with courage, integrity, and pride throughout his career.

In the wake of this tragic loss, the Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. (LELS) Benevolent Fund, in partnership with the Minnesota State Patrol Supervisor's Association and the Minnesota State Patrol Trooper's Association, is raising funds to support Lieutenant Uthe’s family. As we honor his legacy and service, we join others across Minnesota in standing beside his loved ones and providing support during this difficult time.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Lieutenant Uthe’s family, friends, fellow troopers, and all those whose lives he touched.

The LELS Benevolent Fund, in partnership with the Minnesota State Patrol Supervisor's Associations and the Minnesota State Patrol Trooper's Association, are raising funds to support the family of MSP Lieutenant Tyler Uthe.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will help provide assistance and support for the Uthe family.

We're proud to share a major victory for public safety families across Minnesota.

The Minnesota Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision adopting key arguments advanced by Meuser, Yackley, and Rowland attorney Scott Rowland and clarifying important protections under Minnesota’s Public Safety Officer Death Benefit Act for the families of officers who die in the line of duty.

The Court recognized an important truth: responding to emergency calls is inherently unpredictable and dangerous. Even calls that may seem "routine" from the outside often involve significant risks, uncertainty, and stress for the officers who answer them.

In the video clip from oral arguments, Scott discusses why emergency responses should not be treated as routine simply because officers encounter them frequently. Every call has the potential to change in an instant, and the law must recognize the realities public safety officers face every day.

This ruling provides important guidance for future line-of-duty benefit claims and reinforces the protections available to the families of law enforcement officers and other public safety professionals who make extraordinary sacrifices in service to their communities.

Attorneys Lindsey Rowland and Scott Rowland were honored to attend the St. Paul Police Foundation’s Blue Nite Gala, an evening dedicated to supporting the Saint Paul Police Department and recognizing the important work officers do to serve and protect our community. The Foundation has provided more than $6 million in support for programs, equipment, and community initiatives that strengthen public safety in Saint Paul.

The gala was a wonderful opportunity to connect with community leaders, supporters, and law enforcement professionals who are committed to making a positive impact throughout the Twin Cities.
We are grateful to support organizations and events that invest in community partnerships, public safety, and the people who work every day to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Attorneys Lindsey Rowland and Scott Rowland had the pleasure of attending the 2026 Moveable Feast fundraiser benefiting Open Arms of Minnesota, thanks to an invitation from our valued business partner Jon Rice at Northwestern Mutual.

The evening was filled with great food, meaningful conversations, and support for an incredible organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to individuals living with serious illnesses.

While at the gala, Lindsey and Scott also ran into attorney Randy Lane of Heacox Hartman and what started as a friendly conversation may soon turn into a friendly competition. Stay tuned as Meuser Yackley & Rowland and Heacox Hartman work on scheduling a meal-packing contest to see which law firm can pack the most meals for Open Arms of Minnesota!

We’re grateful to support organizations making a difference in our community and appreciate partners like Jon Rice and Northwestern Mutual for bringing people together for such an important cause.

A big congratulations to attorneys Scott Rowland and Eric Schwab, and paralegal Ethan Ion, for participating in the C.O.P.S. and Joggers 5K this weekend in support of Minnesota Concerns of Police Survivors (MN C.O.P.S.)!

Special shoutout to Scott Rowland for an incredible finish. He finished 2nd overall and 1st place in the male division!
The event honors fallen law enforcement officers and helps provide support and resources to surviving families and coworkers. We’re proud to see our team involved in such a meaningful community event.

Earlier this week attorney Lindsey Rowland had a great time attending the Minnesota Association of Women Police (MAWP) Conference in Willmar, Minnesota.

The conference was a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with law enforcement professionals from across the state, share ideas, and support the important work being done in our communities every day.

We had a great time at the Blue Jean Ball supporting the Invisible Wounds Project!

Attorneys Lindsey Rowland, Scott Rowland, and Eric Schwab joined an incredible group of community members to support this amazing organization, which provides mental health resources and support to veterans, first responders, and their families.

The event was a perfect mix of fun and purpose bringing people together to raise awareness and funding for those facing the “invisible wounds” of service.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up for causes like this.

Yesterday, our team at Meuser, Yackley & Rowland enjoyed an afternoon at Topgolf alongside Law Enforcement Labor Services. We spent the afternoon building relationships, sharing perspectives, and maybe uncovering a few hidden golf talents (or discovering we should stick to the day job).

Opportunities like this remind us that strong partnerships aren’t built only in the workplace, but they grow through genuine connection and shared experiences.
