Ep. 123 - Can you hold a landlord responsible if they knowingly allow a dangerous dog to stay on their property and someone is attacked? (RI)

Short answer, yes. If you can produce evidence that the same dog that attacked you or someone else on their property had attacked in the past and prove that the landlord had knowledge, a judge should allow your case to go to a jury.

The case I am discussing is Ferrara v. Marra, 823 A.2d 1134 (R.I. 2003)

Ep. 122 - Can you claim a workers comp injury if you get carpal tunnel from using a keyboard?(RI)

Short answer, yes you can try as there is case law to support this type of injury claim. In Rhode Island, if you can prove that your using a keyboard was the primary condition of a diagnosis of carpal tunnel, you can make a claim against your employers workers compensation carrier.

The case I am discussing is Poudrier v. Brown University 763 A.2d 632 (R.I. 2000)

Ep. 120 - Part 2- Can you prevent your ex-spouse from having their boyfriend or girlfriend at the house when your kids are with them? (RI)

In RI, family court cases are very specific and determined on a literal case by case basis as no two family situations are ever identical. In this case, the court did find that the ex-wife’s boyfriend staying overnight at the house while the kids were at the house was not conducive to their welfare and well-being.
