One of the most powerful moments we discussed in the Law Day episode came from a middle school classroom in one Providence session.
A student asked a retired Family Court judge:
“Do you think you’ve really changed anything when you send a kid home to the same situation they came from?”
That question stopped the room. It led to a conversation about rehabilitation, family systems, and taking a more holistic approach to helping young people—not just punishing them.
Law Day isn’t just lawyers talking at students. It’s students asking hard, insightful questions that challenge all of us to think differently about justice.
