In the event an individual is planning to file a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy which consists mostly of credit card debt, be alert if you have a checking account with a decent balance or a savings account with a financial institution with which you also have a credit card with a balance. Upon filing the bankruptcy, most banks in this case will freeze your funds and await instructions from the trustee appointed in your case. To avoid this, if intending to file bankruptcy, move your checking and/or savings to another bank before filing.
