Planning for aging or caregiving should never start in a crisis.

We just published a new blog exploring how Idaho families, caregivers, and even concerned neighbors can navigate aging with confidence by starting with education first. The article highlights trusted Idaho resources, including LEARN Idaho, and explains how early education leads to better legal, healthcare, and estate planning outcomes.

If you are caring for aging parents, supporting a loved one with disabilities, or planning ahead for your own future, this is a helpful place to begin.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The awesome lady next to me here is my daughter, Camille, at her graduation from my alma mater law school in 2013. She is a Guardian ad Litem in the state of Utah. Every month is Child Abuse Prevention Month for her and her colleagues. They are appointed by the court to represent the best interests of children and teens in cases of alleged abuse, neglect and dependency. They advocate for each child's welfare, ensuring their voice is heard in legal proceedings.

This is a heavy load. Camille carries it with professionalism, grit, wit and deep concern and care for the welfare of our children. They are in good hands with her. She would prefer, of course, that her efforts weren't needed at all. But, for now they are.

Please remember these children this month and find a place to give your time and/money -- not just this month, but throughout the year.

And, oh, Happy Birthday Camille!

Most families don’t realize how much happens immediately after a death or how quickly decisions must be made.

In this podcast episode of Senior Matters, we talk about funeral industry standards, why costs add up so fast, how modern culture has changed the way we grieve, and why pre-planning is one of the greatest gifts you can leave your family.
This is an honest, educational conversation for Idaho families who want to understand what really happens and how to protect their loved ones from stress and uncertainty.
