If you are represented by an attorney, let them speak for you until it's your turn to testify. When you are testifying, truthfully answer the question you are asked. Speak clearly, calmly, and respectfully. Respect goes a long way in the courtroom, and the judge notices!

If you are not represented, always address the judge as "Your Honor." Don't interrupt and wait your turn. Being respectful to the judge and to the opposing party is a must.

Welcome new member, Andrew Hays!

Born and raised in Shelby County, Andrew moved to Dyersburg in 2013 after graduating law school. He then met his wife, Charity, and helped raise two step-children. In 2018, he joined the District Attorney's Office as an assistant prosecutor, a position he still fills today. Andrew and his family are members of Cottonwood Baptist Church in Ridgely.

Andrew says, "During law school, I wanted to be a prosecutor but never got the opportunity until I moved to Dyer County. I am grateful for the ability to serve the law-abiding citizens of Dyer and Lake Counties in this role."
