Our son was diagnosed with autism at age 3. When we first heard that word, the ground shifted under us. We won’t tell you it got easier right away. We’re still learning as we go. He attends The Lionheart School. The teachers, therapists, and families there opened doors for him — they saw his needs clearly long before we knew how to address them. We didn’t earn that door. God opened it, and He used people to do it. The same has been true of our work. Nothing about building our firms came easily, and we’re grateful for the clients and partners God has placed in our path. You have been a blessing to us. One of us also grew up with a parent missing, and knows what that absence costs a child — not just in money, but in having someone to bring the hard questions to. Those students carry something extra, and usually carry it alone.
When that many doors have been opened for you, you have a duty to hold it open for the next person.
