This morning's PDC Norcross meeting, Callie Murray - author, she recently released a historical fiction novel "The Brunswick", two book series which book 2 is still in the works, which is set in 1939 and it takes place in the city of Norcross, GA. Eric Johnson – City Manager at City of Norcross, he spoke at the PDC Norcross meeting. Next month he may be officially retiring soon from Georgia. He discussed his time with the City of Norcross and all of the hardships and accomplishments the City of Norcross has to date since 2020. We will miss him as he is moving out of state with his wife.

Today at the PDC Norcross meeting, Mary Dowdy with the Norcross downtown merchants had an open conversation about improving the City of Norcross. There were concerns about hiring a new city manager, marketing and advertising, and how local businesses welcome and make the city more of a community.

It was a great honor to be a part of the 2nd Annual Level Up Day here in Gwinnett. Thank you, Danielle Tuwano, for making this event possible and taking the time to honor the growth and lifelong learning of folks from all walks of life helping them; to elevate their professional journeys and community engagement was a great way to mark the days. The City of Norcross officials spoke at today’s PDC Norcross meeting and they spoke about reopening the Norcross 101 series for residents and businesses who want to know more about how the city operates and their local government. The Norcross Academy of Citizen Enrichment are only accepting applications for a limited of 20 spots on Thursdays starting Sept. 17th – Oct. 29th for seven sessions.
