DRIPPING SPRINGS—Rockin’ For CJ, a benefit concert for CJ Cluck, a seven year old Hill Country boy with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and deadly form of bone cancer, will be held at Pecan Street Brewing in Johnson City, Texas on Sunday, May 23 2021 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. C. J. must undergo nine months of intensive chemotherapy followed by a period of radiation in addition to the amputation of his leg. CJ’s family has extensive expenses associated with his treatment and care and all proceeds from the concert will go to help the Cluck family. Tickets are $15 at the door.

Rockabilly Hall of Fame member LINDA GAIL LEWIS will be headlining the benefit. Linda Gail, like her brother Jerry Lee Lewis, is an accomplished recording artist who has headlined internationally and recorded with Jerry Lee Lewis, Van Morrison and, most recently, with Grammy nominated Americana recording artist Robbie Fulks among others. Linda Gail will be appearing with famed Rockabilly guitarist Danny B. Harvey (Headcat, Rockats) and her daughter, Annie Marie Lewis (The Devil’s Daughters). Together they have played some of the biggest and most prestigious rock festivals in the world.

Opening for Linda Gail will be legendary Texas Rockabilly band The Brian Turner Band. Brian Turner (Chevelles, Rockabilly Deluxe Show) has been entertaining at such famed venues as The Broken Spoke, Hill’s Café, Gruene Hall, and Luckenbach for over 40 years. Jimmy Umstattd (Rockabilly Deluxe, Bubblepuppy) joins Brian on bass and vocals. Christian Umstattd (Naked Maja), Jimmy’s son, will be on drums and vocals for the show. Brain Turner and his band will join with Linda Gail Lewis and her band for a rocking closing set of classic rock and roll from Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Chuck Berry to name just a few. Expect a few special guests during the show as well.

Pecan Street Brewing is located at 106 E. Pecan Ave. in Johnson City, Texas (on the square across the street from the Courthouse). Owners Don and Chrystal Tamillo have graciously embraced the benefit to help the Cluck family. In fact it was their idea to hold this benefit to help CJ. Pecan Street Brewing has some of the best food and craft beers in Texas and will be serving during the concert so bring your family and an appetite!
