The Brazilian government postponed the visa requirement for U.S. nationals for one year. On April 10, 2025, the Government of Brazil will reinstate a visa requirement for all U.S. nationals visiting Brazil, with an option for an e-visa for qualified applicants. This date reflects a one-year postponement announced on April 9, 2024.

Currently, the visa fee is $80.90 with a 10-year validity.

Travelling to Brasil🇧🇷 is easier than ever! You don't need a Visa (if American or Canadian) nor a Covid-19 Test. But you still need authorization to send your child/ren alone or if you are traveling with your child/ren without the other parent. Effective April 1, 2022, most individuals traveling to Brazil who present proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are NO longer required to present proof of a COVID-19 TEST or a Traveler's Health Declaration (DSV).
Unvaccinated travelers who meet one of Brazil’s five exemption categories from vaccination* are now REQUIRED to submit an RT-PCR test or antigen test performed within one day of departure.
*EXEMPTIONS:
1.Brazilian citizens and permanent residents of Brazil;
2.Those not eligible for vaccination due to age as defined by the Brazilian Ministry of Health;
3.Those with a health condition contraindicating vaccination;
4.Those arriving from countries with low vaccination rates as defined by the Brazilian Ministry of Health; and
5.Those whose entry is approved for humanitarian reasons by the Office of the President of Brazil.

Vaccines must be approved by the Brazil National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA), the WHO, the FDA, or by relevant health authorities in the country where the vaccine was administered. To be considered fully vaccinated, the traveler must have received the final dose of the vaccine at least 14 days PRIOR to boarding.
