Hey, road biking friends. Heads up! You cannot pedal the Alpine Loop, even though it's becoming snow free. The Cascade Springs road is being redone and is crazy torn up with big stretches of the road completely gone. Heavy road construction vehicles all up and down it, too. They actually plowed it from Midway up to the top 3 weeks ago so they could start on it. Anyway, they have blocked, barricaded and road closed signed SR92 right at the hairpin turn 1 mile from the summit. The construction guys at the barricade this morning said it's a $1,000 fine for violating the closure (how they enforce it, I don't know). Now you know.
