Estate Planning in the Digital Era 📑
It’s 2021. 👩🏻💻 Digital assets include social media accounts, email, and cryptocurrency. It is important that your estate planning documents designate a fiduciary with access to your digital assets, otherwise, your designated fiduciary may not be able to access your accounts.
A fiduciary is a person appointed to manage the property of another person, and is charged with a duty to act in that person's best interest. 👩🏽⚖️ Fiduciaries include personal representatives, conservators, trustees, and agents under a power of attorney.
If your estate planning documents do not designate an individual to manage your digital assets, it might be the perfect time to update your documents! 😊
