I recently chatted with a client who was devastated to learn about a friend’s diagnosis in her family. Her mother is battling metastatic breast cancer and barely hanging on. Her daughter is now trying to prepare for the worst, but unfortunately there is no plan in place. Incidentally, it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My heart turned toward them and with my experience in estate planning, I couldn’t help but empathize with the pain and frustration.

It’s a common misconception that estate planning is only for the wealthy or the elderly. The truth is, it’s an imperative tool for everyone, regardless of age or financial situation. Devastation happens, usually when we least expect it. Preparing an estate provides peace of mind for both you and your family, knowing that your last wishes will be executed seamlessly by your loved ones.
