The Wolverine Bar Association was established by a number of African-American attorneys during the 1930’s. It was organized to coordinate the energies and talents of the increasing number of African-Americans admitted to practice throughout Michigan. From its inception, the Wolverine Bar Association assumed a leadership role in community and political activities. The Wolverine Bar is actively invo

lved in the legal community and the community at large. We provide resources to our membership to assist with the unique challenges we face. Through the Association and our charitable arm, the Wolverine Bar Foundation, we implement our programming through our various
committees.

• Treasurer — Vacant

ELIGIBILITY
Any General, Retired, or Sustaining Member in good standing is eligible to serve. Members may self-nominate or nominate another eligible member.

Nominations Open: Aug. 30, 2026
Nominations Close: Sept. 4, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET
Slate of Nominees Circulated to the Board of Directors: Sept. 5, 2026
Special Election Voting Closes: (Correction) Sept. 11, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. ET

If you are considering service on the Executive Board—or know a member whose voice, experience, and commitment would strengthen our leadership—we encourage you to submit a nomination.

The duties of each officer are set forth in Article IV of the WBA Bylaws. The Nominating Committee is also available to answer questions regarding the responsibilities and time commitment associated with each position.
