So let me get this straightโ€ฆ ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿง๐Ÿคจ

Samantha Woll, president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, was murdered at her Detroit home. Roughly two weeks later, her ex-boyfriend Jeffrey Herbstman called 911 in Kalamazoo and made statements indicating he believed he killed her. Police responded to his hotel parking lot, where BODYCAM captured additional statements about his responsibility for Wollโ€™s death. ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿš”

Yet Herbstman wasnโ€™t charged. Instead, the Wayne County Prosecutorโ€™s Office prosecuted Michael Jackson-Bolanos, a Black man, while Herbstman testified under immunity.

Herbstman didnโ€™t know Bolanos, never met him and had no firsthand knowledge that Bolanos committed the murder.

So why was immunity necessary? ๐Ÿค”

The jury ultimately ACQUITTED Jackson-Bolanos of first-degree murder, convicted him of lying to police and deadlocked on felony murder and home invasion. The remaining charges were later dismissed.

The Parole Board did not simply โ€œdecideโ€ to delay Michaelโ€™s release until August 26. His July 29 parole was suspended because WCPO brought these โ€œnewโ€felony charges. The same charges they now want dismissed โ€œin the interest of justice.โ€

And WCPO says these charges were filed without Kym Worthyโ€™s knowledge? Her name is on the parole motion that specifically references this 2020 case. Michael was arraigned, discovery was produced, and the charges stopped his release.

Interesting that โ€œthe interest of justiceโ€ only appeared after his attorneys filed motions to dismiss.

The timeline speaks louder than the statement!!!
