🌧️ More rain is in the forecast, and flooding remains possible in Polk County.

Stay safe:
• Never walk, swim or drive through floodwater. Turn around, don’t drown.
• Avoid flooded roads, trails and low-lying areas.
• Keep children and pets away from creeks, streams and other fast-moving water.
• Stay weather aware and be ready to change your route if you see water over a roadway.
• Follow Polk County Emergency Management Agency, Iowa and US National Weather Service Des Moines Iowa for updates on severe weather.

Even if it isn’t raining where you are, waterways can rise quickly after heavy rain.

Self-employed individuals, retirees, investors, and others who have income that isn’t subject to withholding may need to make estimated tax payments. Making payments on time can help taxpayers avoid an unexpected tax bill or possible penalties.
