This is disgracefully!

The Iowa Senate recently passed a bill (SF228) that would let trucking companies hide evidence of illegal activity that led to a deadly crash, and would put a cap on the value of your life if you're killed or seriously injured by a semi on Iowa roads. No state in the country has ever passed this immoral and irresponsible proposal into law.

Iowa Senator Adrian Dickey is the chief proponent of this bill, which had strong bi-partisan opposition in the Iowa Senate, and (thankfully) does not have enough support to pass in the Iowa House. Dickey runs a trucking company in Packwood Iowa, and while debating this bill on the Senate floor he revealed that he is the current chairman of the trucking industry's statewide lobbying group. By acting as the chief legislative proponent, and running the industry lobbying group that would benefit from this bill, he may have broken the Senate's ethics rules. But it's certain that he's broken the trust of his constituents.
