Attorney Ben Stone recently represented a very young man facing five years in prison for violating his probation several times. The client, who graduated HS while in custody, had already lost his deferred judgment due to his guilty pleas to two new crimes, with another one pending. Both his probation officer and the prosecutor were arguing for revocation and prison. But after the judge saw the eight exhibits Stone gathered, and heard testimony from the young man, the court agreed to spare him prison by sending him to a residential treatment facility instead.
