The weeklong attempted murder trial of Dewey Perdue ended on Friday, Aug. 14 with the 12-person jury finding him not guilty on all counts. Gina Messamer had the great honor of representing educator Ashley Delaney, who was charged with assault after touching a 14 year old on the arm at a track meet to direct him towards some starting blocks. The jury recognized the charge was silly and quickly acquitted Ashley.

Jess Donels & Carly Scott just finished their second jury trial in four weeks. This one ended in a very well-deserved NOT GUILTY verdict in favor of our client, Dewey, in Marshall County.

Dewey was charged with two counts of attempted murder, and two counts of willful injury. We pleaded self-defense. The jury easily recognized who started the fight, and why Dewey finished it. We are so honored Dewey trusted us to continue the fight into the courtroom.

Attorney Ben Stone represented a man accused of a felony burglary. Video evidence from the burglary did not appear to be his client. Stone investigated the scene; deposed the state’s witnesses; then provided prosecution with additional analysis of the video, eventually resulting in the dismissal of the case with prejudice.
