In similar news to our last status, the construction workers have again messed up our internet. Earliest they can get a tech out is tomorrow morning. Please bear with us as this effects all of our pieces of technology.

For the 2nd business day in a row, our office internet is down. This is means our phone system does not work. We can send and receive texts or emails so that is the best way to get ahold of us until the tech comes and likely discovers the construction workers cut the line outside again (like they did on Friday) and is hopefully able to fix it. Mediacom said the tech will be out between 1 and 5. Thank you for your patience.

Our building is experiencing electrical issues which is causing significant issues regarding accessing our office server and using the phone system. Please be patient with us as mid-American works to restore our access.

We wanted to inform everyone Jacob was involved in a motor vehicle accident yesterday. He is doing ok but will need some time to recover. He likely won't be able to answer phone calls or emails the rest of the week. Colin and I are working diligently to take care of his calendar for the this week and next. The City of Des Moines is doing a massive amount of construction around our building which is effecting parking as well as the continued construction on the former Garden location. If you have to come to the office for any reason, plan on having to walk a ways because there's only about 5 spots for all the businesses in the building. In light of the continued spikes in covid-19 cases, we have made the decision to close our office to in person meetings for the foreseeable future. You will still be able to reach us via phone and email during regular business hours (and beyond because you know how Amelia is about notifications). You can also contact Amelia to set up specific times for phone or video calls with anyone.

Ten years ago today, we started in a newly-built, one-room office that didn't even have a door yet. Today, we are a thriving business that has literally represented thousands of clients, and we aren't done yet. The list of people we owe thanks to is far too long to name, but to our families, friends, employees (both current and former), and all of the clients that have put some of the most dire and sensitive situations in their lives in our hands, we thank you for your support and your trust. Here's to the next ten, and all the tens after that!

Colin McCormack here, and I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that our office manager Amelia Wildt and her husband Stephen have just had and adorable baby boy. Say hello to Myles Martin Wildt, the newest member of the Van Cleaf & McCormack family!

The bad news (which will comes as no great surprise to clients who were around when Amelia’s first child was born) is that Jacob and I will be flying solo for the next eight weeks or so. We’ll do our very best to keep things running smoothly, but our clients know how invaluable Amelia is to our firm, so expect some rough spots. So congrats to the new (or I guess renewed) parents, and let’s all silently pray Amelia gets stir-crazy and comes back early!

P.S. That last part is about 80% a joke. Enjoy maternity leave, Amelia. We’ll try not to burn the place down!
