Founded in 2016, the Colorado Family Law Project LLC is an organization dedicated to providing unbundled legal services and low-cost legal representation to Coloradans with modest means to afford legal help on their family law cases. The Project is intended to compliment, rather than control, a family law case. Unlike full representation (which the Project also provides on a limited basis), unbund
led services allow individuals to come in and meet with a staff attorney as needed on their case. Clients may purchase 1-hour blocks of unbundled time and are expected to come to these consultations with all of the necessary paperwork for their case. (Don’t worry, we’ll help you make sure you have a good checklist before you meet with us!) Once the consultation is over, the attorney-client relationship ends. Clients are welcome to book future 1-hour blocks of unbundled time if they need additional legal help. The Project intends to address an increased need for unbundled services for family law matters in the State of Colorado. Today, many Coloradans and their families are unable to pay for a lawyer or a law firm to handle their entire case in court. In fact, almost 60% of Coloradans opt out of law firm or legal representation and represent themselves in Court on their family law cases. The Project was established to help these people have access to limited legal advice and representation. Unbundled services not only help clients take better control of their case, but they help judges and the Courts keep cases legally organized and focused.
