Tried a DUI case today in Jeffco that should have never been charged or taken to trial. Client stopped for excessively speeding, admitted to consuming one beer, passed roadside maneuvers and refused a test. Jury did the right thing of course.

I just got a call from a potential client. Left his pistol with a gun lock on it in a locked backpack in his locked car. Juvenile broke into it and stole the gun. Cops charged potential client with failing to safely store a gun! What do you all think about this?

CLIENT FOUND NOT GUILTY OF DUI!
I had my first jury trial today in over 13 months due to COVID. Young man charged with DUI after making a wrong turn onto a 1-way road in downtown Denver. DUI enforcement officer saw him turn and immediately stopped him. Client denied drinking anything and erroneously believed he’d pass the roadside maneuvers and the officer would let him go. Instead, the officer claimed he had slurred speech, strong odor of alcohol, swaying balance, and, of course, failed all of the roadside maneuvers. The officer’s own body worn camera video contradicted his testimony and justice was served!
