Applying for U.S. citizenship looks different today 🇺🇸

Recent updates from USCIS (effective late 2025/early 2026) mean that "staying out of trouble" is no longer the only standard. To meet the Good Moral Character (GMC) requirement, you now need to proactively show how you contribute to your community.

📝 What’s New?
Instead of just checking for a clean record, officers are now looking for "Positive Equities." This might include evidence of:
* Community Involvement: Volunteer records or letters from local organizations.
* Civic Participation: Membership in professional or community groups.
* Financial Responsibility: Proof of consistent employment and up-to-date tax transcripts.
* Family Dedication: Records showing you are supporting dependents or fulfilling family obligations.

🧠 Don’t Forget the Test!
If you’re filing now, be ready for the 2025 version of the Civics Test. The question bank has expanded to 128 questions, and you’ll need to answer 12 out of 20 correctly to pass.
