To all friends, colleagues, and those interested in Spiral Dynamics, and the work of Professor Clare W. I was the first to bring Graves to the attention of the wider audience in this country and elsewhere. While his health was shaky, I took him all over this country, even to New Orleans to meet Bum Phillips and explain why NFL players were into drugs; then to the corporate board of Braniff Interna
tional. the very day it announced a bankruptcy -- He offered some excellent counsel to the executive team, including Howard Putnam; and, of course he played a major role with me on the entire transformation out of apartheid. He told me often that I had the best understanding of his model than anybody else, but that I should not just teach what he knew, as many are trying to do as "keepers of the orthodoxy," I should strive to expand the framework, find new allies (as I did with Ken Wilber, Ichak Adizes, Andrew Cohen and many, many others); explore new research as we have done in Cologne, Germany using fMRI brain research tools, and begin a global strategy to apply it as field tests all over the world. The work colleague Elza Maalouf and I have done in Palestine and Israel is revolutionary -- Graves would have been pleased. And, you should look at what Bjarni johnsson has done with national assemblies in Iceland. With the Quest for The Master Code we are taking Graves work, and Spiral Dynamics to a new level, one designed to address the Life Conditions that we are all facing today. If it had not been for me I doubt if any of you would have heard of Clare W. I supported him financially in his later years; and saw to it that his life was full of fun, excitement, intellectual stimulation, and accomplishment. We are the true Gravesians as are the multiple thousands of people who have identified with us. We have openly shared his wisdom far and wide -- not just for commercial gain, but as true inheritors of his insights, passion, and vision.
