If you haven't already heard, the USDA has released updated plant hardiness zone maps. The maps are updated every 10 years, and are based on minimum temperature records over the past 30 years. This won't suddenly change what grows in your area, but will give you a better approximation of what you might want to attempt to grow. Awareness of the microclimates existing on your own piece of land will further help refine which plants you have a good chance of being successful with.
No matter where you are in the U.S., this link will take you to an interactive map where you can zoom in to a street-level detail of the map using your current location: https://planthardiness.ars.usda.gov/
