One of my favorite things about living in North County is how often our communities give us a reason to get out and enjoy them.

Tomorrow, Leucadia comes alive for the 20th Annual LeucadiART Walk along Coast Highway 101. With more than 100 artists, makers, live music, art demonstrations, and plenty to see along the way, it’s one of those days that reminds me why I love this little corner of San Diego.

I always enjoy wandering through the booths, discovering something I haven’t seen before, and taking in the energy of Leucadia.
And the best part?
It’s free and truly feels like a community event.

One of the things I love most about living in North County is how easy it is to turn an ordinary meal into an experience. ☀️

There are so many ways to spend a weekend in North County, but this is the kind of Saturday that reminds me why I love living here.

The morning starts with a great cup of coffee—I’m usually choosing between Lofty Coffee and Steady State Roasting—before heading toward the coast for a walk and a little time to slow down.

From there, I love wandering through Cedros Design District to discover local artists and boutiques or spending the afternoon exploring Carlsbad Village, where every storefront has something unique waiting inside.

When it’s time to eat, North County never disappoints. Whether it’s a casual lunch, fresh seafood by the water, or dinner at one of our incredible neighborhood restaurants, there’s always somewhere worth lingering a little longer.

It’s these simple weekends that make this community so special. The beaches, the small businesses, the people, and the feeling that you’re never far from your next favorite spot.

This summer, I have one special favor to ask... let’s help Tippy find her forever home. 🐾❤️

Meet Tippy—a beautiful, smart, and incredibly loyal 62-pound Shepherd mix who has been waiting for her family since March 2021.

The amazing team at Rancho Coastal Humane Society knows Tippy better than just about anyone. She even spent a year in a foster home, so they know exactly the kind of home where she’ll thrive.

Here’s what makes me smile... Tippy isn’t just a great dog—she’s one of the smartest, best-trained dogs at Rancho Coastal! In fact, they crowned her the shelter’s “Class Valedictorian” and even threw her a graduation ceremony to celebrate. 🎓🐶

She has her own YouTube playlist, a dedicated webpage, and adoption posters—all because everyone believes she’s worthy of a family to call her own.
Unfortunately, Tippy has become a victim of what’s called the “long-stay stigma.”

Too often, people assume that because a dog has been waiting a long time, something must be wrong. The truth is, sometimes the perfect match simply hasn’t come along yet.
