This week's Spotlight of the week is one of our Associates, Lora McParland-Savoie. Lora is our newest member to the D.C. Law family, coming from another local law firm. Lora earned her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she interned with a District Judge and shadowed the local prosecutors. Lora was also a participate in the Washtenaw County's Guardianship review program. Lora has been practicing law for approximately 7 years in the areas of family law, estate planning, probate, civil and criminal. Prior to practicing law, she was a deputy court clerk for approximately 9 years, which allows for her to know the ins and outs of the court procedures. Lora is dedicated to not only her work, but to her family. Lora's children, and family, are involved in several local community sports and activities, and they volunteer as a host family every year with the Junior League World Series. One of Lora's most honorable moments was when she was asked to be the Keynote speaker for the Class of 2017 John F. Kennedy High School. To Lora, it is important to give back to the community in which she was raised in.

This week's Spotlight of the week is one of our Associates, Carly Lowler. Carly attended the University of Detroit Mercy where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Carly then went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, where she graduated in the top third of her class. After her first year of law school, Carly joined D.C. Law as a law clerk where she was able to work with and learn from both David Camaj and Nickolas Darin. Carly was admitted to the Michigan bar in 2021 and began practicing as an attorney with D.C. Law. Carly has experience with Family Law, Child Custody matters, and Driver’s License Restoration. Carly as been an asset of our team since her law clerk years, and has continued to grow.

Carly, we appreciate all you do here at D.C. Law. If anyone is looking to make an appointment with Carly, just give the office a call and ask for her, she will be more than happy to speak with you!

This weeks Spotlight of the Week is Karen Ditzhazy of our Administrative Team. Karen has been with Mr. Camaj since 2003, witnessing the firm expand over the years. Karen had the pleasure of watching both Nick Darin and Carly Lowler as interns while attending Law School, and developing into the impressive attorneys they are today. She also witnessed our newest addition, Attorney Lora McParland-Savoie, join the team.

Karen is the first person you most likely meet when you come into our office, greeting you with a smile and a kind word. She is the person to get the job done, while multitasking. Her job keeps her busy with maintaining Mr. Camaj's calendar, answering phones, preparing documents, communicating with clients, courts, and other attorneys, along with other office administrative tasks.

With two grown sons, Matthew and Christopher, and raising her 16 year old grandson, Joshua, she keeps busy at home. "When you are with your family all is right in the world," as Karen would say.

At 67 years of age, Karen says she still has a few years left. Her philosophy is "if you love your job, you will never work a day in your life." Karen does truly love her job, and her work family.

Thank you, Karen, for all that you do for us here at D.C. Law, your work has never gone unnoticed.

This week’s Spotlight is the newest member of our Administrative Team, Christen Langton. Christen joined our firm in September 2020 and has brought with her a wealth of organizational and operational expertise. Having previously worked in the field of education, as both a teacher and a principal, Christen knows just how to communicate with all types of people, keep calendars on track, keep files just so and keep the daily workings of a busy office moving steadily along. Fast paced and efficient, Christen is ready and excited to keep DC Law moving forward. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chuck, their daughter Maggie, and son Mick, making each and every moment count!

Christen is a huge asset to our team, and we are beyond thankful she is here with us! Don't forget to say hello to Christen whenever you maybe in the office.

A beautiful spring day is about to begin at D.C. Law, PLLC!

D.C. Law, PLLC has been extremely busy with big changes to the firm within the last year. The Firm has expanded their areas of practice, and added two new Associate Attorneys. D.C. Law, PLLC has expanded from not only their Family Law, Criminal Law, and General Practice areas, but now includes Estate Planning, Probate, and License Restoration. Mr. David Camaj has also now conducted over a hundred mediations.

In addition to the expansion, Associate Lora McParland-Savoie and Carly Lowler have joined our firm and family.

Lora comes with 7 years of experience from another local law firm and has expertise with court policies and procedures in Family Law, Probate, Estate Planning, and more. She has been able to pick up matters quickly and assist with cases since stepping into her position with us.

Carly has been with D.C. Law, PLLC for a few years now and has been promoted to an Associate Attorney within the past year. Carly has a working knowledge in all areas of practice and has been able to contribute to the firm since her promotion. Carly's knowledge is a continued asset to our firm.
