Florida’s so-called “Safety in Private Spaces” Act, which makes it a crime for someone to use restrooms or locker rooms that don’t align with their s*x at birth, took effect this Saturday, July 1.

Rawnsley Law supports the rights of our LGBTQIA+ citizens and oppose this discriminatory law.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT East Volusia residents: beginning MONDAY, AUGUST 24th, the Clerk’s office divisions at the City Island Courthouse Annex in Daytona Beach will re-open to public visitors, a LIMITED number at a time. The following Clerk divisions will be open to the public from 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday: the traffic and misdemeanor division; the civil, marriage and Official Records recording division; and the family/juvenile division. The security personnel will limit the number of customers allowed into each division and you MUST wear a face covering for entry into the building.
We are happy to begin again offering our services to East Volusia residents including, acceptance of case filings, applications for marriage licenses, payment of criminal costs, traffic citations, and child support payments, recordings in the Official Records including notices of commencement, all family and juvenile related filings and injunction assistance, as well as marriage ceremonies.*
*For marriage ceremonies, in order to limit the number of individuals in the courthouse, please don’t bring friends or family members inside with you. If you bring others, your ceremony will be performed outside of the building (when weather allows), so please have guests wait outside while the clerk assists you.
