It depends.

Working while applying for SSDI or SSI does not automatically disqualify you from receiving benefits. However, Social Security looks at your work activity and earnings when determining whether you are engaging in Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA).

There are also circumstances where someone may attempt to return to work but be unable to continue because of their disability.

The important thing is to understand how your specific work situation may affect your claim.

The insurance adjuster called. They sound friendly. So they must be on your side… right?

❌ FALSE.

Insurance adjusters work for the insurance company. Their role is to evaluate claims and help protect the insurer from paying more than necessary.
