This home was the beginning of a vision we dreamed about more than 10 years ago. A home filled with firsts.
Our first home together—bought just three months into dating. Insane? Absolutely.
Just two weeks after closing, I found out I was unexpectedly pregnant in that tiny bathroom with John.
It was where we celebrated our first holidays together. The home we brought Jackson home to after his long and terrifying NICU stay. Where John earned his bachelor's degree, all while working full-time. In that upstairs office, I studied and earned my real estate license while learning how to be a new mom to a demanding preemie.
John proposed to me in the backyard, just the two of us, after an intense battle of badminton. After our wedding, we ended the night by walking back to this house in our wedding clothes after bar-hopping together.
These walls watched us learn, struggle, celebrate, and dream.
This was where we became landlords for the first time, learning the ins and outs of leases, tenants, and yes—even evictions. We sat together at the dining room table running the numbers and wondering if buying our first duplex townhome was crazy. It wasn't. That risky decision changed the course of our lives.
While we were moving out of this home, I was unknowingly pregnant with Jovi.
This simple house wasn't just our first home. It became the foundation of everything that followed.
Now, for the first time ever, we're selling a home that was truly ours. Buying it back in 2016 felt exciting and terrifying all at once, and letting it go is every bit as bittersweet.
