Applications are now open for the California Indian Law Association's 2020 Pathway to Law Program! The program is a two day pre-law workshop on March 6-7, 2020 at UC Davis School of Law. Apply by Feb. 12, 2020.

2020 PATHWAY TO LAW PROGRAM ANNOUNCED - APPLY BY FEB. 12, 2020. CILA is proud to announce the 2020 Native Law Pathway Program, a two day pre-law workshop March 6-7, 2020 at UC Davis School of Law. This is a full scholarship program for Native students and professionals interested in law school. Participants will learn about the LSAT, law school admission process, and financial aid. Each participant will also be matched with a Native attorney mentor who will be available to provide support through the law school application and enrollment process. All participants will receive free registration to CILA’s annual conference in October of 2020 where they can attend panels and network with Native attorneys, attorneys practicing Indian law,and Native law students. This program is generously co-sponsored by California ChangeLawyers, the National Native American Bar Association Foundation, and the Tribal Justice Project.

Whether you are looking to begin a new career or improve your training skills, we encourage all who are interested to attend. The Tribal Justice Project is offering “Tribal Justice for Tribal Communities: Training for Judges and Court Personnel” on January 31, 2019 - February 1, 2019 in Highland, CA (at the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Community). This training serves to train current and prospective tribal court personnel and judges on essential skills on understanding the tribal court foundation, court development, and operating a tribal court. You can choose to register for the judges’ session or the court personnel session. Please see the attached agenda for details. No previous tribal court experience required. The registration fee is $75. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Hotel recommendations are suggested for the Doubletree in San Bernardino, CA and the Bear Springs Hotel in Highland, CA.

The Tribal Justice Project will be offering the Tribal Justice for Tribal Communities: Training for Judges and Court Personnel on January 31, 2019 - February 1, 2019 at the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Community, in Highland, CA.

We would like to invite current tribal court judges, court personnel and encourage all who are interested in learning to become a tribal judge and those who want to learn how to work as court personnel to attend.
